COMMON QUESTIONS

Dental Implants

1What are dental Implants?
Dental implants are the best long-term solution for tooth loss, and the best choice if you wish to return to an active, healthy lifestyle. Medical-grade titanium posts are permanently anchored to your jaw, functioning like the root of a tooth. Prosthetic crowns are then placed onto the posts to replace the tooth visible above the gums. The result is permanent teeth that look, feel, and function like natural teeth. They are virtually immune to infection, damage, and decay, which prevents both continued gum disease and bone loss. Dental implants are your guaranteed for 5 years, and designed to last a lifetime.
2Am I a candidate for full mouth dental implants?
If you have missing or damaged teeth, suffer from severe gum disease, or have endured trauma to the mouth, you’re a good candidate for dental implants. Even if you’ve already suffered extensive bone loss, you can benefit from dental implants.
3Will anyone know that I have implants?
Nobody will suspect a thing. Your dental implants will look just like natural teeth. You’ll be able to smile, eat, and live with confidence and comfort.
4What are the different tooth replacement options?
Use the front page chart on this topic (full mouth teeth replacement options)
5How is the CascadesONE implant system different?
Use the first chart from the front page.
6How is CascadesONE different from from All-on-4s®?
Our full mouth dental implant system typically use six implants, while All-on-4s® use only four. Using six dental implants provides a more even load distribution and reduces the stress placed on each individual implant. In our experience, our six-implant procedure has consistently led to more long-term stability and success.
7 How much are Full Mouth Dental Implants?
At other offices, dental implants can cost you over $25,000 per arch, and even more with additional costs that are not included! Some offices charge extra for things that Cascades considers standard - like prosthetics, sedation, and after-care, and they have up-charges if you want the highest-quality materials. Shop around, and make sure to compare apples to apples. When you do, you’ll find that Cascades really does offer the best quality and the best price at the same time. The CascadesONE system is priced at $21,500 per arch, which is an amazing value when compared to most other offices. Our “One Price” promise means that your up-front quote will include the highest quality work and materials, prosthetics, sedation, after-care, and everything else, including a 5-year guarantee.

Your permanent implants will be in place, and you’ll have temporary prosthesis fixed to the implants. Once you’ve fully healed from your surgery, you’ll come back in for your permanent prosthesis.
14Is the procedure painful?
We’ll do everything possible to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Dr. Ruparelia is certified in sedation dentistry, so you have the option of not feeling anything. Our practice also has an anesthesiologist on staff, which is a unique benefit for you. Most patients choose general anesthesia; however local anesthesia is also an option. Patients are usually very surprised at how little discomfort they feel following the procedure.
15 How long will it take to recover?
Recovery is generally very quick, though you’ll have some discomfort after your procedure. Most patients are able to eat normally and return to work after 4-5 days.
16 How do I care for my implants?
You will care for your implants as you would natural teeth. Dr. Ruparelia and the rest of the team will advise you on how to best brush, floss, and generally take care of your new teeth.
17 Will this get rid of my periodontal disease and bone loss?

In a word, yes. During your procedure, all of the bacteria that causes your periodontal disease will be removed and your new dental implants will prevent it from ever coming back.

Bone loss will also be stabilized, since your dental implants will bear the load normally taken on by your natural teeth. This load-bearing allows your jaw to do what it’s designed for, which strengthens and maintains natural bone health.

18 How many people will I be working with? Will I need to visit several offices?

You will be working exclusively with Dr. Ruparelia and his team. At many dental centers, patients need to go to one office for their prosthetic consultations, another for the surgery, with a whole array of different assistants and hygienists.

You’ll meet with your doctor, Dr. Ruparelia, during your initial consultation and he will continue to work with you during every step of your treatment. He will be the only ones handling the treatment. You will be supported by one highly trained team, and all the treatment will take place in one location.

19 What makes Dr. Ruparelia qualified to do dental implant procedures?

Your dentist, Dr. Ruparelia, is a highly trained implant dentist. For example, Dr. Ruparelia is skilled in both the prosthetic and surgical aspects of dental implant procedures. While other dentists may be proficient in one area or the other, few are able to do both, and even fewer with Dr. Ruparelia’s expertise and success rates.

In addition to achieving extremely high success rates, Dr. Ruparelia has the extensive knowledge base and considerable experience to allow him to continually innovate newer, better, and more efficient ways of performing dental implant procedures.
