Exams, X-Rays, and Cleanings

Regular exams, x-rays, and cleanings are the foundation of good oral hygiene and health. We check tooth decay, dental cavities, gum disease, bone loss, prior dental work, and more. We’ll assess your needs and outline a dental treatment plan that fits your needs, goals, and budget—totally judgment-free.

Dental cleanings typically involve removing tartar and plaque, polishing the teeth, and applying a dental sealant if needed or requested.

Dental Bonding

Dental bonding provides a fast and effective method to store your smile and mouth function. Composite bonding involves applying a resin material to a tooth and shaping it to restore its natural shape. Teeth bonding can close chips/cracks in teeth, reduce discoloration, and reshape their design. Dental bonding is minimally invasive, often not requiring any anesthesia to perform.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are most commonly used to fill a gap where a tooth used to be, whether the gap is caused by a tooth extraction, or when a tooth was knocked out in an accident. A bridge is just a replacement tooth held in place by crowns on both sides. This artificial tooth “bridges” the gap left by a missing tooth. Not only is it important to close up the space for cosmetic reasons, but there are clinical reasons for filling the space as well: leaving the gap can place additional strain on the teeth on either side.

"I have had exceptional experiences at Cascades Dental of Centreville with Dr. Edelbi and Dr. Stanley over the past year with the invaluable assistance of their skilled dental hygienist, Melissa. From start to finish, the level of care and professionalism I received was truly outstanding."
- Charlotte W.

Dental Sealants

Sealants are thin, protective coatings applied to the teeth, typically after cleanings or fillings have been completed. The sealant acts as a barrier to food and drink; it effectively helps prevent tooth decay and cavities caused by bacteria. Dental sealants are a wonderful preventative dental procedure for maintaining your oral health and are simple and painless. Sealants can last up to 10 years, but should be checked regularly by a dental professional.

Dental Crowns

Teeth that have been broken, worn, damaged or visibly destroyed by decay can still be saved.

A dental crown is a covering placed over the damaged tooth to protect it from further harm and to make it look more natural and beautiful. The placement of a dental crown over a visibly injured tooth is both cosmetic and protective.

To place a dental crown, the dentist first properly prepares and shapes the tooth. Next, an impression is taken and a temporary crown is placed over the tooth. The impression is sent to a dental lab and the permanent crown is made. When you come in for your next appointment, the dentist will remove the temporary crown and cement the new, permanent one in place.

Dental Extractions

Damaged, decayed, and problematic teeth that cause pain can be removed through simple and/or surgical extractions. Simple extractions usually involve pulling the tooth, whereas surgical extractions will be more invasive. Sedation dentistry options are available for a painless and relaxing procedure. After a tooth has been removed, you can continue without – though we often recommend filling the gap with a dental bridge or implant to ensure your teeth, gum health, and jaw bone remain in good, optimal health.

"New location, same quality, top-notch service. Loving the new and modern office. Staff is amazing and very caring. I’ve been a patient at Cascades Dental for many years. Wouldn’t trust my dental health with anyone else."
- Stacey F.

Dental Fillings

Our hygienists and dentists can prevent further decay of the tooth through dental fillings. Here, the decay is removed from the tooth, and a new layer of filling material is applied to the spot. This fills the cavity or gap, helping to stop bacteria from setting into the exposed area or to stop the tooth from chipping away.

Dental Implants

Dental implants are a reliable, permanent replacement for natural teeth that are both comfortable and totally natural looking.

Cascades Dental uses medical-grade titanium posts that permanently anchor to your jaw. Prosthetic crowns are then placed onto the posts, giving you permanent teeth that look and feel completely natural.

The implants replace the roots of your teeth, and they are virtually immune to infection, damage, and decay. This prevents both gum disease and bone loss from continuing and allows healing and recovery to begin.

A highly trained dentist like Dr. Ruparelia can use implants to treat just about any mouth that's missing teeth, whether it's just one tooth, a few, or the whole set that needs replacement. Learn about all of the implant options offered at Cascades

Veneers

Most of us aren't born with perfect smiles and normal wear and tear can take some of the dazzle out of the best smiles. Porcelain veneers are a great solution for anyone who wants their youthful smile back – or who wants that perfect smile they never had!

Veneers are thin shells placed on the old surface of your teeth, leaving you with a smile that has no stains, chips, cracks or gaps. They really do give you that perfect smile because they’re designed to be your idea of perfect, right down to shape, size and color.

Invisalign

Invisalign are clear aligners used to make incremental adjustments to your teeth. The result? A straight, brilliant smile! Unlike braces which can take upward of 3+ years. Invisalign often reaches its goal within a year. Invisalign clear aligners are customized to your mouth and bite; this makes them discreet, comfortable, and easier to maintain.

Teeth Whitening

Professional teeth whitening transforms discolored teeth and creates a dazzling, pearly white smile. Tooth bleaching lightens the tooth until it reaches a desirable level;  our tools and expertise allow us to get teeth brighter faster and with greater results. In-office teeth whitening is a short visit but has lasting effects on your aesthetics.

"I have been a happy client at this amazing Dental practice for over 20 years. They are always kind, cheerful, attentive, and professional. I am a person who truly fears going to the dentist, but I have never been afraid of pain or the unknown when I am there. Their caregivers are excellent. Their office is immaculate. The entire office staff is exceptional. Five stars in not enough, they deserve a galaxy."

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal therapy can often be used to save a damaged natural tooth. It is often needed when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection.

Having root canal therapy on a tooth is the treatment of choice to save a tooth that otherwise would get infected, swell and lead to severe complications. Many patients believe that removing a tooth that has problems is the best solution, but extracting (pulling) a tooth will ultimately be more costly and cause significant problems for adjacent teeth. Root canal treatment is highly successful and usually lasts a lifetime, although occasionally a tooth may have to be re-treated due to new infections.
